Filthy Rags Are All I Bring

It is so humbling to think of all the times I have turned my back on God. Countless times I have run from Him and done what I wanted to do. Everytime i’ve done that I have fallen on my face and failed. Then I come running back into His loving arms. He accepts me with joy and grace even though I have betrayed Him. All I have to offer to Him is filthy dirty rags. After betrayal and denial, He still loves me and desires a relationship with me. It is so incredible to think about how merciful and loving my God is. He cleanses my sin and filth and turns me in His direction. No matter the situation, God is Still God and He loves me. Lord help me to quit running in circles and to Love you the way You Love Me.

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

Psalm 73:26

Danger in Tradition

I was talking to a friend today about how the Bible is personal and must be read and discovered individually along with corporately. More specifically we talked about how there is danger in blindly following the translation and commentary that is placed on certain verses. Often the commentaries are very insightful and correct although, most verses should be defined by your own personal reading and studying along with the wisdom of others. This topic has such truth in so many areas and I know I’ll be careful with following tradition without reason.
